The cd was in great condition. I bought it used and it was good as new.
But then, why not. Although obviously a recent recording by NKOTB, it's got that classic late-80s sound and style to it. Then, that's when "Step By Step" came along - but I didn't get a copy of the song "Step By Step" until way later. Good to see them back in action.I once owned a copy of "Hangin' Tough" on cassette, way back in 1989, but I never replaced that with either a new CD or LP vinyl.
Perhaps it was a demo song recorded years earlier, and they included it here as a bonus track, but I really couldn't set that in stone. I have a copy of the latter group's 1989 album "One", and it is also wonderful. Not to mention their newest release, "The Block". Besides, I was a teenager in the late '80s.Although I have heard quite a few songs on this CD here, I have yet to get my copy of it. Perhaps the only thing I don't like about it is that the song fades out a bit too quickly at the end.
I also checked the other NKOTB albums available both here and on Rhapsody, and "If You Go Away" is included on this album exclusively. I admit I'm 38 now, and yet I still enjoy their music to this day. Besides, I'm also a paying member of Rhapsody.com, and this album is included there for downloading and listening to as well. But then, that's a whole different story there.Once again, I am indeed glad the New Kids on the Block have made a recent comeback.
Ahhh, the New Kids on the Block is back - with a very nice collection of their classic hits, as well as a few bonus tracks. Had I been the composer, I would have at least put a nice finale at the end of this number. But otherwise, that song is marvelous. Some feedback would be appreciated and helpful here.Perhaps the one thing I like about "If You Go Away" is that it also sounds very much like a few 80s-era ballads done by the BeeGees. I also have a copy of that song on a multi-artist CD I bought in 1998, called Rock On 1990. I just hope their legacy will live on for a bit longer. I suppose that I had 'outgrown' them before the appropriate time.
They have been around for almost 21 years now. Rhapsody is usually very good at keeping up with the latest music releases, as well as re-issues of the classic albums I grew up with.Anyway, one of my top favorites on this CD is the opening track "Step By Step". But if I had to choose a favorite from this CD right here, the "Greatest Hits" release, I'd have to pick "If You Go Away". My three favorites on it are "Bodyguard", "Tears", and "Wish You Were Here". But you never know.
Great CD. It brought back so many memories. I still remembered and loved every song.
I love the 2008 bonus megamix that's included on here and the duet with Ana and Jordan Knight is a pretty song. That song is very hard to find until now.
My casettes from back in the day have disappeared over time and some of them don't even play anymore so I'm glad I purchased these cd's. I was excited when my favorite childhood boy band got back together this year & was going on tour. I went and bought their new cd and was pleasantly surprised, I saw this cd listed as well and thought what the heck I'll get it to. Now I can listen to the music I enjoyed during my childhood, my daughter also enjoys listening to this cd. Her favorite song is Hangin Tough.
